How to share a trip itinerary without exposing private details
Sharing a trip itinerary is convenient, but a travel plan can include sensitive details. Before sending a link, check which information companions really need and which details should stay private.
Remove booking and payment details
Reservation numbers, payment IDs, card details, and account information should not be placed in a shared itinerary. If companions need them, send them through a safer private channel.
A shared itinerary usually only needs dates, places, meeting times, and the general order of the day.
Keep private addresses out of notes
Airport transfer notes and hotel notes can accidentally include home addresses, phone numbers, or detailed room information. Review notes before making a link public.
For most companions, the hotel name or nearby station is enough.
Share for the right purpose
A companion needs meeting points and daily order. A family member at home may only need city dates and hotel area. The shared version should match the purpose.
TripNotePlan share links are useful when you want others to see the plan without editing the original trip data.
